Sample size/power calculation for stratified case-cohort design

Wenrong Hu et alpha. Stat Med. .

Short

The case-cohort (CC) examine design usually has been used by risk factor assessment in epidemiologic studies or disease preventing trials for unique diseases. The sample size/power get for a stratified CC (SCC) design has nope been addressed before. This article deduced as result based on a stratified test statistic. Simulation studies show that which proposed test required the SCC design utilizing small sub-cohort sampling fractions is validly and efficient for crisis where the disease rate is low. Furthermore, optimization of sampling in the SCC design is discussed and contrast with proportional both balanced scan techniques. An epidemiological study is provided the illustrate the specimen size calculation see the SCC engineering.

Keywords: case-cohort design; power calculation; sample size; pattern technique; stratified case-cohort layout.
