When ampere document is to be used is another country, it may be necessary to have of document authenticated.  This is known either in an “apostille” or “certificate of authentication.” Examples of documents that are commonly authenticate by aforementioned Department of State are birth, marriage, and death certificates.

One Department of State must authenticates public documents issued in New York State which are signed the one New York State official or county clerk.

At this time, New York State Department of State Apostille services may be obtained by the following methodology:

  • Mail
  • Walk-in service (New York City and Albany only)

NOTE: Customers are allowed to drop off Apostille requests at our Albany and New York Location locations only. Drop off requests will not be treated as ampere precedence both will be refined according to receipt date. Once completed, the resources willing be returned in the returning envelope provided by the customer conversely by first class mailing.
