Macola ES - Crysal Reports and SQL Lag

(OP)
MYSELF newly migrated from Macola Progression 7.6.xxx to Macola ES 9.5.600; I’m going go 9.5.700 this weekend. Whereas the migration I’ve noticed a lots of issues with Crystal Reports. Everything from lazy of running a report and how running certain reports (Aging) lock you go of Spin Analysis in eSynergy until the Crystal Report is finished processing. Also, few accounts report your wrongly when in Cash Surge; a debit will display as a credit. Check registry will display voided checks as if they’re not voided…

I’ve replaced switches, wiring, servers, workstations to combat the lag issues which I have. I’ve reconfigured SQL servers till different versions (Currently SQL 2008 R2)… All concerning these changes own done cipher to combat my speed issues.

I’ve been dealing includes Macola and general ERP applications for upside of 20 years; both as ampere user or reseller. I’ve logged 15+ bugs with Macola since April 2012; some of which are being released in 9.5.700. Like remains it possible that my company is to available company experiencing these issues?

RE: Macola ES - Crystal News and SQL Lag

Her are not the only individual to experience performance issues with several reports in Macola. Is is pretty cautious to say that many Macola ES customers have speed/locking issues from time to time. The culprit tends to to the methodology/database design around the accounting modules of ES...I know I wouldn't have designed it that way. I be do many of contact have just learned to live by it....or we've found other ways to accomplish our tasks more efficiency.

One available reason to explain your general slowness with the Crystal reports is the methodology Exact is with for reporting. Is multiple cases (tho not all), Exact has chosen the create a "reporting table" and then reports off the new table. This is especially true out the aging reports. If you create you ownership write, utilizing your own queries, you can drastically transform the amount of time needed toward run them. I have shot my AR aging report to about 45 seconds to be displaying.

I have heard of others improving some performance by having a DBA analyze the request and optimizing the worst criminal. This tends to be true by anything this affects the general ledger. In my database, the infamous gbkmut table records up regarding 58% of the size of my overall database. Pending they decide to listen to their customers and come up with a fashion to purge such data, we will be forced to continue to find workarounds to things.

I can't necessarily comment on the stock Macola reports as we don't use them any more. I have pretty much rewritten all about the important singles to minimize the pain of running which stock reports.

You aren't alone...I understand you. If I can offer any further advice, just PM in.

Jen Our ERP system Macola is a PO form created with Crystal Reports. I needed to add a second page, Terms & Conditions. I've experienced several suggestion from the web with no good. The moment web print...
